The volunteer's expected benefits

The volunteer will develop and acquire different types of competencies trough their EVS experience in several areas.

EU related issues and project management

The volunteer will get an insight in the EU integration process of one of the new EU member countries, Latvia – communication, participation of civil society, benefits and challenges, national and internaional networking/coalition building and the design, implementation and evaluation of events and/or projects.

Interpersonal and social competences

The volunteer will have to adapt and coping with new challenges, to team-work with colleagues, to share responsibility, to live and work in an international environment.

Cultural expression

The volunteer will develop cultural awareness on his/her own and the hosting countries cultures, their similarities and differences. They will get an insight in the history, traditions and touristic diversity of Latvia. Insights in the specifics of a multi-cultural environment and in inter-cultural communication.

Communication in Latvian and English

The volunteerss will have the possibility to learn a new European language, Latvian, and also to  communicate, socialise and negotiate in both, Latvian and English.
